Import a Pages or Word document
You can import a Pages or Microsoft Word document into your book as its own chapter or section. To add a Pages file created in Pages 5.0 or later, you must have the latest version of Pages installed on your Mac.
To insert content within a chapter or section, copy the content from the Pages or Word document and paste it into an iBooks Author document.
Import a document
Choose Insert > Insert Chapter From > Pages or Word Document.
Choose the document to import, and click Import.
Select a layout, and click Choose.
Tip: To import the paragraph styles from your Pages or Word document, select the checkbox.
Note: Some elements might not transfer as expected.
Tip: You can also drag a Pages or Word document into the Book pane from the Finder.
