Add a movie or an audio file

You can use the Media widget to add a movie or an audio file to your book.

Note: Movie and audio files must be in a format QuickTime supports. If you can’t add a file, try using iMovie, QuickTime Player, or Compressor to convert the file to a supported format.

Add a movie

  1. Choose Media from the Widgets pop-up menu in the toolbar.

  2. Drag a movie file from the Finder or the Media Browser to the widget.

  3. In the Interaction pane of the Widget inspector, do one of the following:

To set the movie to play automatically when a reader views the book page, select the “Plays automatically” checkbox.

    • Set the movie to play full-screen when readers tap or click its thumbnail image: Click “Plays full-screen.”

      • Continue to edit the widget: Select the thumbnail image, click Edit Media, make your changes, and click Done.
